Where questions shape the learners of today and leaders of tomorrow

The PYP has grown into a global benchmark for what great education looks like today and tomorrow. Designed for a world that’s always changing, it sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and helps children make sense of the world around them. It celebrates how children naturally ask questions, explore ideas, and connect learning to life. Through big concepts and real-world themes, students don’t just memorize, they understand. They lead their learning with voice and choice, supported by teachers who guide and inspire.  The result is young learners who think deeply, care deeply, and step boldly into the future.

Empowered to explore

The IB PYP empowers children to grow as curious, confident global citizens ready to make a real difference in the world. Learning begins with their questions and grows through exploration. They wonder, investigate, reflect, and connect the dots. With each step, they build understanding that’s deep and lasting. The PYP doesn’t just teach facts, it nurtures thinkers, problem-solvers, and lifelong learners with the courage to act.

Limitless learning spaces

Here at ISOP, learning can happen anytime, anywhere in the playground, classroom, during snack time. We break down traditional subject boundaries through six transdisciplinary Units of Inquiry at each grade level. Rooted in global themes, these units invite students to ask big questions, explore real-world issues, and make meaningful connections across, between, and beyond subjects.

The ISOP PYP Classroom

Each year, PYP students share their learning journeys with families during Student-Led Conferences – an opportunity to take pride in their growth and reflect on their progress.
To mark the end of the PYP, our P4 students lead the PYP Exhibition, a powerful culmination of their primary years. This in-depth, student-driven inquiry showcases who they have become as learners. The Exhibition celebrates the process: critical thinking, independence, collaboration, and meaningful action as well as the vibrant community that supports them.

The ISOP Library

“Books are a uniquely portable magic.” — Stephen King

At ISOP, the Library is more than a room full of books. It’s the beating heart of the PYP journey. All roads of inquiry pass through it. As a hub of resources, ideas, and imagination, the Library supports every step of student learning. It’s where questions deepen, where connections are made, and where stories spark wonder.

One of our most important goals is to nurture a genuine love of reading. ISOP teachers and librarians work hand in hand to ensure children engage with books that captivate their curiosity, stretch their thinking, and ignite their creativity. It’s a space where imagination meets purpose—and where lifelong readers begin their journey.

A Balanced Start: Learning Through Play and Joy

At ISOP, we believe that a balanced approach to education begins early. Academic growth is important, but so is the social and emotional well-being of each child. That’s why we intentionally create time and space for play, exploration, and joyful connection.

Play isn’t a break from learning, it’s a vital part of it. Through play and fun activities, children strengthen their memory, develop expressive language, and build communication skills. These experiences also support learning readiness, helping students feel more engaged and prepared in the classroom.

Most importantly, play nurtures imagination and creativity which are essential tools for lifelong learning and personal growth. At ISOP, joy and learning go hand in hand.

PYP CONFERENCES & EXHIBITION

Each year, PYP students share their learning journeys with families during Student-Led Conferences – an opportunity to take pride in their growth and reflect on their progress.
To mark the end of the PYP, our P4 students lead the PYP Exhibition, a powerful culmination of their primary years. This in-depth, student-driven inquiry showcases who they have become as learners. The Exhibition celebrates the process: critical thinking, independence, collaboration, and meaningful action as well as the vibrant community that supports them.

PYP GRADUATION

After a rich and rewarding journey that nurtures curiosity, builds skills, and fosters confidence, our PYP students are ready to take the next step into ISOP Middle School. PYP Graduation is a special moment to recognize their growth, celebrate their achievements, and reflect on how far they’ve come. Each student is honored with an official PYP Certificate as they step forward, proud and prepared for what comes next.

OUR PYP TEACHERS

At ISOP, our teachers are caring, knowledgeable, and deeply committed to their students’ growth. They bring a wealth of experience and education to the classroom, creating a space where every child feels seen, heard, and valued. In the PYP, teachers guide rather than instruct, encouraging students to take ownership of their learning. By promoting voice, choice, and inquiry, our educators empower children to think independently, explore deeply, and reflect meaningfully on the world around them.
